This policy explains what information this website collects, why, and what happens to it. It describes what we actually do — not a generic template.
If anything here is unclear, email info@alphaobedience.com and ask.
Who we are
Alpha Obedience Dog Training Inc. is a dog training business based in Katy, Texas, serving Katy, Fulshear, Richmond, Cypress and west Houston, plus virtual clients. The website is alphaobedience.com.
We are a small, owner-operated business. Your information is handled by Katie Kelly, the owner.
Information you give us directly
The contact form
Our contact form asks for:
- Your name
- Your dog’s name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- Your dog’s age range
- The main behavior you want addressed
- Whether your dog has bitten or shown aggression
- Which program you’re interested in
- Your budget range
We ask for these so the phone call that follows is useful rather than twenty minutes of basic questions. The aggression question in particular helps us prepare properly and keep everyone safe.
Where it goes. Form submissions are emailed to us and also stored in the website’s own database. They stay there until we delete them. You can ask us to delete yours at any time — see Your choices below.
Newsletter signup
If you subscribe through the footer form, your email address is passed to Mailchimp, which handles our mailing list. You can unsubscribe from any email, and doing so removes you from the list.
Phone, text and email
If you call, text or email us, we keep those messages and any notes about your dog as part of our normal client records.
Information collected automatically
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use the site — which pages get read, roughly where visitors are located, what device they’re on, how long they stay.
This is aggregate and statistical. We do not use it to identify individual people. Google’s handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
Google Ads conversion tracking
We advertise on Google. Conversion tracking tells us when someone who clicked an ad went on to contact us. This tells us whether our advertising is working; it does not tell us who you are.
Google reCAPTCHA
Our contact form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which distinguishes real people from automated spam. reCAPTCHA collects device and behavioral information to do this, and is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Without it, the form would be unusable within days. Spam bots are relentless.
Embedded content
Some pages include content served by other companies:
- Google Maps — shows our service area
- Instagram — the feed on our Gallery page
When these load, the companies that run them can see that you visited the page and may set their own cookies. We do not control what they collect. Their policies apply: Google, Meta.
Server logs and caching
Our host, Hostinger, keeps standard server logs including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. Our caching software may store a temporary cookie so pages load faster.
Payments
We do not process payments on this website. No card details are ever entered on alphaobedience.com.
We invoice through Square. When we send you an invoice, we give Square your name, email address and the amount owed. You then pay on Square’s own secure page. Your card details go directly to Square — we never see, handle or store your full card number.
Square’s handling of your payment information is governed by the Square Privacy Notice.
If you use a financing option — Afterpay, Klarna, PayPal Pay Later or All Pet Card — you apply directly with that company. They make their own decision and hold their own information about you. We are not party to that application and do not receive your financial details from it. Each has its own privacy policy.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This site uses:
| Type | What it does |
|---|---|
| Necessary | Keeps the site working — caching, form security, spam prevention |
| Analytics | Google Analytics, so we can see which pages are useful |
| Advertising | Google Ads, so we can tell whether our advertising works |
| Third-party | Set by Google Maps and Instagram when embedded content loads |
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may break parts of the site, including the contact form. Our Cookie Notice has the full detail.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your information. Not to anyone, for any price.
- We do not rent, trade or share your details with other businesses for their marketing.
- We do not send marketing texts or emails to people who haven’t asked for them.
- We do not post about your dog publicly without your permission. If we’d like to use a photo or a story, we ask first.
Who we do share information with
Only where it’s necessary to run the business:
- Google — analytics, advertising and spam protection, as described above
- Mailchimp — if you subscribed to the newsletter
- Hostinger — our web host, which stores the website and its database
- Your veterinarian — only with your permission, and only if something about your dog’s health needs discussing
We may also disclose information if legally required to, or if it’s necessary to protect someone’s safety.
How long we keep things
Contact form submissions stay in the website database until we clear them. We periodically remove old enquiries that didn’t turn into bookings.
Client records — training notes, contact details, your dog’s history — are kept for as long as you’re a client and for a reasonable period afterward, since past clients often come back and that history is useful.
Newsletter subscriptions last until you unsubscribe.
Analytics data is retained according to Google’s settings, typically 14 months.
Ask us to delete your information and we will, other than anything we’re required to keep.
Your choices
You can:
- Ask what we hold about you. Email and we’ll tell you.
- Ask us to correct it if something’s wrong.
- Ask us to delete it. We’ll do it unless we’re legally required to keep it.
- Unsubscribe from emails, using the link in any email.
- Opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser add-on.
- Block cookies in your browser.
Email info@alphaobedience.com for any of these. We’ll respond within a reasonable time — we’re a one-person business, so allow a few days.
Texas residents have rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act. If you’d like to exercise any of them, get in touch and we’ll help.
Children
This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through our form, email us and we’ll delete it.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS, so information sent through the contact form is encrypted in transit. We keep the website and its software updated and take regular backups.
No website is perfectly secure and we won’t pretend otherwise. What we can tell you is that we don’t hold card details, and we don’t keep more information than we need.
Where your information is held
We operate in the United States and our website is hosted in the United States. If you contact us from elsewhere — our virtual classes are available anywhere — your information will be processed in the US.
Changes
If we change how we handle information, we’ll update this page and change the date at the top. Substantial changes will be flagged on the website.
