Katie is an amazing dog trainer. She has lot of experience and passion for what she does. She was able to asses my and my dog's needs to give the best action plan for our success. She is also very in tune with her work and is very honest about the owner-dog dynamic that can potentially create certain behaviors, I appreciate that & trust her professional advice. She's just awesome!! She was able to help me with my German Shepherd Dog and his reactivity issues, he loved her and I loved working with her too!! She was educational & I learned just as my dog did. I went to a few different trainers and wasn’t getting any results. I was paying a lot of money and all I wanted was some basic obedience for my dog. I found Katie at Alpha Dog Training and from the consultation I knew this was finally the training I was looking for!! She was professional and very knowledgeable. We can’t say enough great things about Katie! We have a Vizsla - a breed that’s known for being smart, energetic, and admittedly a little clingy and demanding. This is our first time owning one and we honestly didn’t know where to start when it came to training. Katie has been absolutely incredible. She’s knowledgeable, patient, and truly understands both dogs and their owners. She’s completely turned things around for us and given us the tools we need to set ourselves and our dog up for success. With her guidance, we’ve made huge progress in crate training, loose leash walking, and overall obedience. Our dog is happier, calmer and so are we! We used Alpha Obedience for both our Basset Hounds. Katie really trains each dog individually. Basset Hounds are notoriously stubborn and independent and can be very difficult to train due to their strong instinct as scent dogs. With Bailey, we focused on recall as a safety command, as well as other obedience commands like sit, stay, take it, leave it. We worked on manners, threshold, and consistency. Winston is a very different dog. He really needed behavior attention, as a dominant male with separation anxiety. We worked on similar as Bailey, but also patience, kennel behavior, earned privileges, manners, in addition to basic obedience commands. Katie understands the nuance of different breeds and different dog personalities and will work with you to implement the training plan appropriate for your dog. We also frequently use her for boarding, as our dogs love going and spending time with her and her adorable boxer. We love that it’s a home environment and they get lots of attention.
